Banana Fritters

Things Needed: 2 ripe bananas slit into two from the middle lengthwise, refined flour for batter, water, cardamom powder, sugar to taste, oil for frying, pinch of turmeric powder.

Process: In a bowl put few spoons of refined flour add sugar, pinch of turmeric powder and cardamom powder. Mix it well. Add water slowly to make a slightly thick batter. Dip the sliced bananas into it and cover it with the batter.  Heat oil in a pan. When really hot reduce the flame and add the banana pieces. Shallow fry it till it turns light brown and the batter gets cooked. (Note: Do not deep fry. ). Once done take out and put it on paper towel to remove excess oil.

This could serve as a sweet snack.

A quick breakfast with bread and potato


A filling and easy way of preparing bread and potato sandwich.

Things Needed: 1 cup mashed potato, 4 bread slice, 1 chopped green chili(alternatively use 1 teaspoon red chili powder or pepper powder), 1 finely chopped onion, few finely chopped coriander leaves, few finely chopped raisins, 2 tablespoon butter, salt to taste

Process:  In a bowl put the mashed potato and all the above ingredients except bread and butter. Take a bread slice, spread butter on one side put the mashed potato mix. Take another slice of bread and spread butter on one side. Put on top of the mashed potato mix such that it gets sandwiched. Now grill it in a sandwich maker.

A Simple Starter – Cauliflower Crisps

A very simple and tasty starter.

Things Needed: Cup full of Cauliflower florets, 2 tablespoon corn flour, 1 table spoon refined flour, 1  tablespoon ginger-garlic paste, 2 teaspoon red chili powder, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, salt to taste and oil for frying.

Process: In a bowl mix all the above ingredients except oil. Add/sprinkle handful of water to bind everything together do not use excess water. Keep for 20 min. Heat oil in a pan to smoking point. Reduce the flame and gently put/spread the cauliflower. Take out when it turns light brown. Remove excess oil and serve
